Understanding the OSI Seven Layer Networking Model

A computer network is made up of many parts and the longest-used method to conceptualize computer networks is known as the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Seven Layer Model. For Network Technicians the OSI Seven Layer Model provides a practical tool for diagnosing network problems as well as a common language for describing networks.

Layer 1 – Physical: Includes the cable used to move bits of data between computer systems. Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) with a CAT 5E or CAT6 rating is common in most networks. Fiber Optic cable which uses light waves as to transmit data packets as opposed to electrical waves has significant speed and distance advantages over UTP, but lacks the durability. Hubs, which operate much like old-time telephone switchboards moving data to connected systems are also included in Layer 1 of the OSI Model, as well as radio waves transmitted through the air to a Wireless Access Point (WAP).

Layer 2: Data Link: Includes the Network Interface Card (NIC), which serves as the interface between the computer and the network. The NIC is usually built into the motherboard and is assigned a Media Access Control (MAC) address that gives each system connected to a network a unique ID. The MAC address is used to ensure that data is delivered to the right computer, and NICs use electricity to send and receive packets of binary data as pulses of electricity, light, or radio waves.

Layer 3: Network: Includes software designed to use logical addressing called protocol that is used to efficiently move data packets along the physical and data link layers of the OSI Model. The most common protocol is TCP/IP which works in tandem with Routers at layer 3 to ensure that data is sent and received at the desired computer systems. Other protocols that use logical addressing such as POP and SMTP for email also reside at the network layer.

Layer 4: Transport: Includes protocol that is specifically designed for assembly and disassembly of data packets. Data must be sent in chunks that will fit into specific packet sizes, which is then reassembled into readable data by the receiving computer system. The transport layer network protocol breaks up the data and assigns sequence numbers which allows receiving systems to process the data.

Layer 5: Session: Includes protocol that initiates data transfer sessions between computer systems, accepts incoming sessions, and opens and closes existing sessions. The session layer’s network protocol also keeps track of computer naming conventions to facilitate data transfer sessions between computer systems.

Layer 6: Presentation: Includes software that converts data into standardized file formats which allow computers to receive data and convert it into a format that is readable by the computer systems. PDF and Adobe Acrobat are an example of standardized file format software that allow computer systems to convert data into readable files.

Layer 7: Application: Includes software applications that allow users to access and utilize data files. Web browsers such as Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, as well a email programs like Outlook Express are found at the Application layer. Layer 7 also includes code built into operating systems that enable network-aware applications and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).

Please Do Not Throw Sweet Potato Away: A useful mnemonic for memorizing the seven layers of the OSI Seven Layer Networking Model.

What Type of Holiday Should I Go on?

Not sure what type of holiday to go on next year? Here are five popular breaks that you could try.

1. Adventure – The word adventure conjures up images of Indiana Jones and while most holidays don’t exactly involve chasing down the Ark of the Covenant, there are many holiday destinations that do provide plenty of excitement for most of us.

2. Partying – If you’re a party animal, shifting base from the UK to an overseas destination is something you’ll want to schedule into your annual calendar. Whether you want to tie it in with some beach fun in somewhere like Majorca or experience partying in a different culture in Holland, there is fun waiting to be had.

3. Historical and Cultural – While it’s possible to find these two as separate kinds of holidays, they do go hand in hand. From the beautiful architecture and fascinating history of Poland to the majestic Czech Republic city of Prague, there are different cultures and histories just waiting to be explored.

4. City breaks – The world is made up of some amazing cities and short breaks to sight-see and explore are only a plane ride away. From the New York to Amsterdam, they each off something different. Rich in culture, architecture, museums, theatres and landscapes, prepare yourself for a photo album full of memories.

5. Relaxing – Lastly, perhaps the most popular kind of holiday is one that involves relaxation. Whether it comes sitting by a pool reading a book or catching some rays on the beach, getting away from the stresses of everyday life is something we all deserve from time to time. The likes of Menorca and Majorca could be exactly what you’re looking for.

So, what are you waiting for? If you’re ready for a holiday of any kind, it’s time to look for deals. Why not look into flights to Menorca or flights to Holland and start planning your trip?

Outdoor Party Theme Ideas for Spring and Summer

Seasonal changes give us a whole new selection of party ideas to choose from. Whether you’re planning a wedding, a bridal or baby shower, a birthday party, Fourth of July Party, or a “just because” party, there are so many fun ways to get outdoors and enjoy the season with your family and friends. No pool, no fireworks, and not even a reason are needed to host one of these soirees!

Ice Cream Social

When the weather turns hot, who can resist a delicious, cool, creamy ice cream treat? There’s nothing more casual and fun than a good old-fashioned ice cream social. Stock up on different flavors of ice cream, cones and dishes, and all the toppings and head outside! Fill an old bathtub (no chipping paint, of course) or a big metal tub with ice to keep your treats from melting, and voila!

Set up a build-your-own sundae station and let the good times roll! Make sure to have plenty of sauces and sprinkles, and don’t forget the cherry for the top!

If you’re feeling particularly festive, you can ask your friends to dress in early 1900’s attire like handlebar mustaches, bow ties, suspenders, and derby hats for the men. Women can sport long dresses and gloves with their hair swept up. You can provide lovely decorative fans to stay cool. They work great as a party favor!

You can even send your guests home with some adorable ice cream theme party favors to say “thanks for coming!”

English Garden Tea

If you have a green thumb and have a beautiful garden, why not share it with your friends and family? Host an English Garden Tea Party right out in the middle of the fruits of your labor. Pull out a table and chairs, use your prettiest tablecloth, and set it with the fanciest dishes you have!

There are plenty of opportunities for sending your guests home with party favors to thank them for coming. You can even send them home with the cup and saucer! Edible and drinkable party favors such as personalized tea bags and jars of jam or honey are perfect!

Mad Hatter Tea Party

It’s like a regular tea party, but a little more twisted! Set your table with a striking black and white checked or other bright-patterned table   cloth . Make sure your dishes and cups don’t match! We’re all mad here!

Use as many off-sized items as you can such as oversized or undersized utensils, cups, and refreshments. Get one of the cupcake-shaped cake pans to make a cake that looks like an oversized cupcake. Don’t forget to mark everything with “eat me” or “drink me”!

Drive-In Movie

This one is best for those of you who live in rural areas. Rent a giant inflatable movie screen and DVD projector and set up an old-fashioned drive-in right in your own back yard!

Make it a theme with showing musicals where you invite everyone to dress as their favorite musical character and incorporate a sing-along. Or you can show old classics and everyone can dress in 1940’s era clothing. Or have a zombie theme, if you dare, and view classic zombie thrillers. Guests can show up dressed as “the dead”!

Whatever theme you choose, make sure to set up a refreshment stand complete with popcorn (you can even get personalized bags of popcorn as party favors), hot dogs, and plenty of soft drinks!

Country BBQ

This is a good ‘ole type of party we’ve all been to before. But put a little creativity into it and host a corn hole toss tournament, complete with prizes. Make sure to put out bails of hay for seating. Set around pitchers of ice-cold homemade lemonade and frosty drinking jars. And don’t forget the red checked tablecloths!

Karaoke Night

If your friends are brave enough, rent a Karaoke machine and turn your porch into a stage! A floodlight can make a good spotlight, if you have one.

Make it a contest! Let everyone vote for their favorite performer and present them with a prize!

Just add a little creativity and you can turn your backyard into a magical land, a theater, a stage, or an old-timey soda fountain. Your friends won’t be able to wait to see what surprises are in store for them at your next get-together!

How Much Does an Amber Cost?

The price of amber is determined by the different life forms which are found in the stone. Intact insects, plants, flowers etc will increase the value of amber and these stones will be highly priced. Typically, an amber necklace with say, a trapped dragonfly, will have a high price and will enjoy a heavy demand in the market.

The prices of these gems can vary depending upon the clarity, color, polish and size of the piece. The prices mentioned in this article are in general for gems of fairly good color and good clarity. Opaque pieces of amber can usually be bought quite cheap – for as much as $0.10 to $1 for a carat or less. For pieces around an inch in size and with insect inclusions, the prices can range from $50 to $60. An average stone of a good size and with inclusions would cost around $195.

Good wholesale quality beads can also be purchased for as low as $15. Shapeless and uneven pieces without any fossil inclusions ranging from 1 to 1.5 inches in size and weighing around 10 to 12 carats would cost anywhere between $30 to $40. Polished beads without any inclusions of about 1 centimeter usually cost from $1 to $2 per carat.

Many a times, this gem is heated to give it an old or aged look. These pieces usually cost less compared to a similar piece having the original color.

Amber pieces with unusual flora and fauna are a collector’s item. Fossils in this gem always increase its value and beauty. A pendant with inclusions is guaranteed to get a good price in the market. A carved ring is also very highly priced in the market.

A significant difference in the price of the amber is made depending on the period from which the amber originates from. The older the gemstone, the higher is its price. However, it is not easy to identify the age of the stone. Most gemological laboratories also do not often certify amber gemstones. The process of finding out the age of the amber stone involves identifying the inclusions present in the stone and estimating the period in which it existed.

There is an interesting piece of news about a piece of Dominican amber with inclusions. Recently, such a piece with a large lizard trapped inside it was sold for $ 75000. This figure cannot really give us a hint of how high a price this gemstone can fetch.

In fact, the amount of history associated with amber jewelry would only serve to increase its market value. Similarly, antique jewelry or a pendant with insect is very highly valued in the market.

There are frequent attempts made in the market to sell amber ‘simulants’ as genuine amber. Simulants of this gem include ambroid, copal resin, kauri gum, dammar, celluloid and plastic. These simulants would normally cost a fraction of what a real stone costs.

Thus, we can see that the price of this gemstone mostly depends upon factors such as age, inclusions, quality and size.

Haitian Vodoun Perspectives on Death and Dying

I chose to explore the culture of Haitians who practice Vodou, a religion also known as Voodoo, Vodun, Vodoun, Voudun, and Yoruba Orisha.  I have just returned from a vacation in the Caribbean (Punta Cana, Dominican Republic), which shares an island with Haiti. While there, I met a man from Haiti and was reminded of a bizarre experience I had in 1998 when I was ridden by an orisha (loa) during an inner-city Christian church service. Thus, I thought this would make an interesting subject for this assignment. To make things simpler in this essay, I will refer to this group simply as Vodou or Vodoun.

Introducing Vodou and Haitian Culture

Vodou is a Caribbean religion blended from African religions and Catholic Christianity. Long stereotyped by the outside world as “black magic,” Vodoun priests and priestesses are also diviners, healers, and religious leaders, who derive most of their income from healing the sick rather than from attacking targeted victims.

Vodou comes from an African word for “spirit” and can be directly traced to the West African Yoruba people who lived in 18th and 19th century Dahomey. However, its African roots may go back 6,000 years. Today, Vodou is practiced most commonly in the country of Haiti and in the United States around New Orleans, New York, and in Florida. Today over 60 million people practice Vodou throughout the Caribbean and West Indies islands, as well as in North and South America, Africa, and Britain.

During days of slave trade, this religion fused with Catholic Christianity. Therefore, in this current century, children born into rural Haitian families are generally baptized into the Vodou religion as well as in the Catholic church.

Those who practice Vodou believe in a pantheon of gods who control and represent the laws and forces of the universe. In this pantheon, there is a Supreme Deity and the Loa-a large group of lesser deities equivalent to the saints of the Catholic Church. These gods protect people and give special favors through their representatives on earth which are the hougans (priests) and mambos (priestesses).

The Loa (also Lwa or L’wha) are spirits somewhat like saints or angels in Christianity. They are intermediaries between the Creator and humanity. Unlike saints or angels, they are not simply prayed to; they are served. They are each distinct beings with their own personal likes and dislikes, distinct sacred rhythms, songs, dances, ritual symbols, and special modes of service.

Rituals, Behaviors, and Practices Associated with Death and Dying

Haitians who adhere to Vodou do not consider death to be the end of life. They do believe in an afterlife. Followers of Vodoun believe that each person has a soul that has both a gros bon ange (large soul or universal life force), and a ti bon ange (little soul or the individual soul or essence.)

When one dies, the soul essence hovers near the corpse for seven to nine days. During this period, the ti bon ange is vulnerable and can be captured and made into a “spiritual zombie” by a sorcerer. Provided the soul is not captured, the priest or priestess performs a ritual called Nine Night to sever the soul from the body so the soul may live in the dark waters for a year and a day. If this is not done, the ti bon ange may wander the earth and bring misfortune on others.

After a year and a day, relatives of the deceased perform the Rite of Reclamation to raise the deceased person’s soul essence and put it in a clay jar known as a govi. The belief that each person’s life experiences can be passed on to the family or community compels Haitians to implore the spirit of the decease to temporarily possess a family member, priest (houngan), or priestess (mambo) to impart any final words of wisdom.

The clay jar may be placed in the houngan’s or mambo’s temple where the family may come to feed the spirit and treat it like a divine being.  At other times, the houngan burns the jar in a ritual called boule zen. This releases the spirit to the land of the dead, where it should properly reside. Another way to elevate the ti-bon-ange is to break the jar and drop the pieces at a crossroad.

The ultimate purpose of death rituals in the Vodoun culture is to send the gros-bon-ange to Ginen, the cosmic community of ancestral spirits, where it will be worshipped by family members as a loa itself. Once the final ritual is done, the spirit is free to abide among the rocks and trees until rebirth. Sixteen incarnations later, spirits merge into the cosmic energy.

Here are some other common behaviors associated with death in the Haitian culture:

·        When death is impending, the entire family will gather, pray, cry, and use religious medallions or other spiritual artifacts. Relatives and friends expend considerable effort to be present when death is near.

·        Haitians prefer to die at home, but the hospital is also an acceptable choice.

·        The moment of death is marked by ritual wailing among family members, friends, and neighbors.

·        When a person dies, the oldest family member makes all the arrangements and notifies the family. The body is kept until the entire family can gather.

·        The last bath is usually given by a family member.

·        Funerals are important social events and involve several days of social interaction, including feasting and the consumption of rum.

·        Family members come from far away to sleep at the house, and friends and neighbors congregate in the yard.

·        Burial monuments and other mortuary rituals are often costly and elaborate. People are increasingly reluctant to be buried underground. They prefer to be interred above ground in an elaborate multi-chambered tomb that may cost more than the house in which the individual lived while alive.

·        Since the body is thought to be necessary for resurrection, organ donation and cremation are not allowed. Autopsy is allowed only if the death occurred as a result of wrong doing or to confirm that the body is actually dead and not a zombie.

Like many Western Christian religions that use a figurative sacrifice to symbolize the consumption of flesh and blood, some Vodoun ceremonies include a literal sacrifice in which chickens, goats, doves, pigeons, and turtles are sacrificed to celebrate births, marriages, and deaths.

Vodou Beliefs about Afterlife

Practitioners of Vodou assume that the souls of all the deceased go to an abode beneath the waters. Concepts of reward and punishment in the afterlife are alien to Vodou.

In Vodou, the soul continues to live on earth and may be used in magic or it may be incarnated in a member of the dead person’s family.

Communion with a god or goddess occurs in the context of possession. The gods sometimes work through a govi, and sometimes take over a living person. This activity is referred to as “mounting a horse” during which the person loses consciousness and the body becomes temporarily possessed by a loa. A special priest (houngan) or priestess (mambo) assists both in summoning the divinities and in helping them to leave at the termination of the possession.

The gros-bon-ange returns to the high solar regions from which its cosmic energy was first drawn; there, it joins the other loa and becomes a loa itself.

Variations

Each group of worshipers is independent and there is no central organization, religious leader, or set of dogmatic beliefs. Rituals and ceremonies vary depending upon family traditions, regional differences, and exposure to the practices of other cultures such as Catholicism, which is the official religion of Haiti.

Some Haitians believe that the dead live in close proximity to the loa, in a place called “Under the Water.” Others hold that the dead have no special place after death.

Burial ceremonies vary according to local tradition and the status of the person. Some families do not express grief aloud until most of the deceased’s possessions have been removed from the home. Persons who are knowledgeable in the funeral customs wash, dress, and place the body in a coffin. Mourners wear white clothing which represents death. A priest may be summoned to conduct the burial service. The burial usually takes place within 24 hours.

Conclusion

Westerners, or so-called logical people, might find Vodoun a strange and exotic mixture of spells, possessions, and rituals. Like any other religion, its purpose is to comfort people by giving them a common bond. Vodoun meshes surprisingly well with Catholicism, the official religion of Haiti. With a supreme being, saint-like spirits, belief in the afterlife and invisible spirits, along with the protection of patron saints, Voodoo isn’t that different from traditional religions.

What Should I Consider When Choosing A Bathrobe Or Robe?

1. When and where do I plan to wear robe most frequently?

We often wear bathrobes as a quick cover-up while dressing or relaxing prior to going to bed. If you wear a robe for this type of purpose, then terry cotton or cotton/polyester are good choices. If you prefer a soothing, soft warmer robe than the synthetic velour or polyester robes provide a good choice. The cotton/bamboo option is another soft and silky fabric that is very comfortable to wear and dries quickly after getting wet.

If you are buying a robe for use after being in a hot tub, you might want to consider how the fabrics feel when they become wet. Terry cotton and other cotton combination fabrics will feel cold after getting wet when you wrap the robe around yourself after getting out of a hot tub or pool. This fact might not be a major concern during the warm months, but the robe might feel uncomfortable during the cooler winter months. The polyester fabrics will not absorb water, so feel warmer when the weather is cooler. In hot weather, the terry cotton and cotton/bamboo fabrics will absorb the moisture off your skin and you will feel cooler after swimming or going into a hot tub.

2. Do I want a full length or shorter robe?

When we think of robes, a flowing long cozy robe comes easily to mind. However, you might need to decide whether you might want a shorter robe if you are using it for quick changes or in the morning over your pajamas. Longer cozy robes suggest lounging and relaxing in the evening or on a lazy Sunday morning to read the newspapers and have a latte. If you are using the robe as a cover-up after soothing relaxation session in a hot tub, a longer robe might be a good option for the cooler or windy months, while a shower wrap or short robe might be a cooler option when it is hot.

3. What are some of the differences in Fabrics or Fibers?

The differences in fibers or fabrics used to make robes relates largely to whether the fabric absorbs moisture or resists moisture. Fabrics made with terry cotton, 100% cotton, bamboo/cotton or cotton/polyester combinations absorb moisture away from your body. Cotton velour provides a smooth feeling against your body but does not absorb moisture as easily as the fibers have been cropped more closely. The synthetic fabrics use a polyester fiber which resists moisture. The synthetic velours offer a soft luxurious feeling next to your body, which provides warmth without feeling wet.

5. Why would I choose 100% Organic Cotton robes?

Fibers used for weaving fabrics can be grown using chemicals or dipped in preserving chemicals that create an allergic response in some people. 100% organic cotton robes have been produced in a manner which is free of harmful chemicals. This process ensures that these robes do not create an allergenic response when someone wears the robes. If you or someone for whom you are purchasing a robe has allergies, then an Organic Cotton robe is a good choice.

6. Some times the terms describing the size of robes are confusing. What are the differences between a man’s robe and a woman’s robe?

Largely the differences are in the length and way that the robe has been designed. Men’s robes typically are larger through the shoulder area then offer a looser overall fit. The majority are longer as well.

Women’s robes tend to be smaller fitting with a narrower fit in the shoulder area. The ballerina and spa robes are shorter and can be used as a cover-up to put on make-up or style your hair prior to go out to a social event/work.

Unisex or ‘one size fits all/most” robes tend to have a more generous design which is loose and not as form fitting. If you are buying a unisex bathrobe, there is often a choice of sizes where you have to select a shoulder or chest size in combination with height measurement. Unisex robes are often a good choice if you require a plus-size robe, as you can match your measurements to those of the robe to ensure that you are comfortable when wearing your robe.

Casual Teenage Boys Wear

Are you conscious about the dressing of your teenage boy? Are you looking for casual and relaxed boys wear? Teenage boys wish to wear relaxed dresses that can let them play and roam around. Most of the boys do not like to go for shopping with their parents as they have developed their style and comfort; they desire dresses that are sporty and easy.

Most of the parents hope to shop for their teenage boys, but they forget to follow what their sons crave for. If you want to buy anything for a teenage boy, first know about his choice and opinion, give him some time and try to know him fully. I can bet you, more than 90 % boys will ask for casual wear rather than formal or restricted wears.

Teenage boys often go with trends; they simply like to follow it without recognizing it fully. Presenting themselves up-to-date and most stylish among the peers is the dream and trance of the new generation; they are in competition with one another and you simply cannot stop them. So, it is better to let them choose their dresses at this age.

If your son selects any dress that goes mainly with style, you need to consider if it is comfortable or not? Do not go for style only; make your son go for the comfort and ease factor when going for dressing; he will surely understand it. You need to give him models or simply ask him to try it and feel the comfort level. He will admit the actuality only when he will feel it by himself.

Try various styles and buy from more than one shop as it will leave a good impact on the traits of your teen. Try to follow diverse patterns in dressing as the same scheming will leave a boring impact. You must be vigilant about the colours and shades of the clothes of your son. Do not go for the same shades and tones; try unique but suitable colours. Make sure that you do not put odd or gauche colours for your son. You should have proper knowledge about the colours that are restricted to boys and girls as well. No parent would like to make fun of his son in front of others while wearing pink t-shirt.

You can buy online; there are ample websites that offer great packages and deals to the parents. They have experts that guide you in newest trends in unfussy wears; you can just sit with your son and select any wear for him. Most of the sites catch your interest by offering price series and colour selections.

Casual clothing is unlike the formal one; your son can try any style in it. You need to be with him just to guide him. Teenage boys get crazy about few and limited colours; here you need to tell the significance of other colours as well. Casual wear does not signify that you have the liberty to wear socks with sandals.

Teenage boys are fond of wearing hand bands and chains; accept the taste of your son. If you do not get time to shop with your son, ask your daughter to do this job for you, as it will be a good companionship for your son.

The History Of Ethan Allen Furniture

In 1932, two New Yorkers, Theodore Baumritter and his brother-in-law Nathan Ancell, founded The Baumritter Corp, which was a house wares sales agency. This was during what is considered by many as the worst year of the great depression, and unfortunately, people just didn’t have the extra money for their house wares at that time. Consequently, at first Baumritter and Ancell ended up losing a lot of the money that they had originally invested into the company. In 1936, they bought a furniture factory located in Beecher Falls, Vermont. Ancell and Baumritter quickly fell in love with Vermont. They decided to name their furniture company Ethan Allen after the Vermont revolutionary leader. In 1939, their furniture line made their grand debut inside stores.

Their first collection was a grouping of 28 pieces of Early American furniture. By 1962, Ancell and Baumritter owned 14 furniture factories in the East. By the middle of the 1960’s, The Baumritter Corp had by far the largest group of furniture in the world, with a 1,600-piece line to choose from. Also by the mid 1960’s, there were approximately 700 Ethan Allen stores in the United States. They also had Ethan Allen stores by that time in Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Australia, and Canada. In 1970, Baumritter retired. In 1972, The Baumritter Corp officially changed its name to Ethan Allen Industries, and they ran their first series of nationwide television ads. During this time in the early 70’s, they also moved their headquarters from New York City to Danbury, Connecticut. Additionally, around this time, they started producing draperies, wallpaper, oriental rugs, and broadloom carpeting.

In 1988, M. Fahrooq Kathwari took over Ancell’s spot as chair and chief executive. Around 1985, when the company realized that Early American Furniture wasn’t in high demand anymore, they set out to create some new furniture designs that were met with great success. Just to name a few there was the American Dimensions line which focused on accenting geometric shapes, Country Crossings which showcased rustic looking furniture, and the Legacy line which was modeled after Italian architecture. In 1991, Ethan Allen started offering wall decor, bedding, textiles, lamps, and other home decor items to their store.

In 2008, Ethan Allen’s products became available to purchase over the internet. An interesting fact to note is that over seventy percent of their cherry, maple and alder wood pieces of made in the United States. Over the years, Ethan Allen has become a tremendously successful company. As of June 2008, they were said to have sales of approximately $980.0 million, with a net income of $58.1 million!

10 Signs That He Likes You

You met this great guy and you’ve been dating each other for some time. Not in an exclusive relationship, but you have been spending time together. Phone calls that lasted for more than an hour, flirty smiles are exchanged.

You feel good about him.

Now is the million dollar question that you want to find out.

Does he like you? Is he into you, or not?

How to know the answer? What are the tell-tale signs that he is into you?

Well, besides using your woman’s intuition which is not something I can describe here nor teach, I’ll do my best to “simplify” this complicated thing call “love”.

10 Signs That He Likes You

1. Watching the same movie twice

He’s seen the movie. Although he wasn’t very impressed with it, but because you haven’t catch it he suddenly changed his tune and said he really would like to watch it a second time.

And so by the way, if you haven’t seen it too, why not let’s go catch it together, he asked.

You know his intention is then not on the movie, but the company really.

So girls, do not expose his true intentions. It’s enough to know the underlying truth, be appreciative ok?

2. His car is playing songs that just sound too, familiar?

Because those are your favorites! You have merely casually mentioned to him once, and the next time he drives you, you’re in for a musical feast.

Is he always so attentive to everyone’s needs and preferences? Well, you observe how he interacts with others and you tell me.

3. He asks that question!

Well, he will try to be as casual and nonchalant about it as possible. But no matter how cool he acts, deep down inside he is burning and dying to know the answer to this question:

“So, are you single?”

If your answer is yes, then this will be the next one:

“No way. How can someone like you be single? You mean, you don’t have a boyfriend?”

Now watch his body language closely. If you notice he is feeling tensed up by now, and totally relieved when your answer is “No” then you get the message.

4. He asks for a follow-up date even before the date is over

Now if he isn’t interested in you, why would a man be so anxious to “book” your time for another date with him even when the date is only half-way through?

Unless you look like Jessica Alba, or you can give him a million-dollar job like Donald Trump. If you aren’t either one of the two or belong to either one of the category, then this can be a clue to his heart…

5. Your name is not foreign to his friends

If you do get a chance to meet up with his friends, which you know you can create such opportunities, you’ll get some nice juicy bits from them.

But this may not be very fool-proof, neither are all of these signs, but if his friends raise their eyebrows or grin sheepishly when he introduces you to them, then that means word has been around within that gang on someone in particular, which could very well be you.

6. He can’t remove his eyes from you

Ok, we know that’s not the kind of stare-through-your-clothes type, but rather a slightly more loving kind of gaze that speaks of admiration and liking.

If the eyes could speak, they may just pop this question on behalf of their owner “You are the most beautiful lady I’ve ever seen. Would you like to be more than friends?”

The best test? When a bombshell or super gorgeous babe sashays past, you need to alert him before he notices her. (Of course, this is really carrying it a little far ha ha…. what does it take to stop a man’s roving eyes? I can’t find the answer yet)

7. He prompts you

Every now and then, he will find a chance to ask you what type of guy you are attracted to and are looking for in a partner.

Unless he’s doing what I’m doing (which puts me in a really privileged position to ask ha ha), what business is it for him to know what kind of man you like if not for the fact that he is secretly plotting his way to become the most suitable candidate?

Don’t be surprised if he starts putting himself down or discrediting himself by saying things about him that don’t fit into the list you described. He is testing waters to see what your reaction would be, which will give him some clues on how you feel for him.

For example you listed “having a good sense of humor and making you laugh” as one of the traits which you will be attracted to, and he says “Oh, I’m a boring guy actually. I don’t know how to crack jokes or make girls laugh. I must be boring you then” be careful of what you reply him.

If you say “Ya, I don’t think you are the type of humorous person either” versus “Oh is that so? But I never find you boring at all. In fact, I feel we have lots of things to chat about” he will either be secretly weeping in sorrow or jumping in joy .

By saying things like that, he is kind of “forcing” you to give a respond, and either way you will be giving away clues on how you feel. So girls, if you fancy this guy too, you know what kind of answer you should give, right?

8. He is doing you favors

Yes, he doesn’t mind ferrying you around if he has a car. He will also volunteer to accompany you all the way to an out-of-the-way place to satisfy a sudden craving you have for a food delicacy that is sold there.

He wiil help you with your school work, express his interest in lending you a hand for errands you need to run, buy some things for your family etc.

If a man isn’t interested in developing something further than friendship with you, unless he is too bored with his life or he’s Mr Super Ultra Nice, then I wonder what could it be that prompts him to be everywhere when you need his help.

9. He’s very anxious about celebrating special occasions.

Like Valentine’s Day (if he asks you out on that day, I would really suspect his intention, wouldn’t you?) and your birthday.

He would long to celebrate this special day with you, and preferably alone.

10. He buys you gifts

Sending gifts on no apparent occasion and for no reason is the easiest way for a man to declare his interest in a girl without verbalizing it. By giving you something, he is testing to see how you react. Usually he will do this when he still isn’t sure of how you feel towards him, so at least he won’t feel rejected if you reject his gift.

At the same time, he is hoping to make you happy with that gift. And if you are happy, he will be too!

Summarizing the above, they may not be 100% fool-proof scientifically proven signs to show he’s into you. They came from pure experience and observation. I purposely didn’t include things like body language where he will check how he look before meeting you, pointing his leg and facing his body towards you etc because I just want to make this as non-scientific as possible.

So ladies, hope this gives you some clues to how this man who is appearing in front of you pretty often lately feels about you. Does he has only platonic friendship in mind, or something more?
